Founder Kirstine

Danish designer and founder Kirstine Østergaard Graf grew up surrounded by art and design. Her grandfather Henning Anthon (a well-known illustrator) and grandmother Bente Hagedorn Anthon (a sculptor) inspired her during her childhood with their art and creative mindset. After many years as a sourcing manager and design scout in the field of fashion and interior design, Kirstine founded CONTESSA BERLIN in 2017.

”As a native of Denmark, the Scandinavian design tradition is in my blood. My mission is to support modern women in carrying their individuality and femininity proudly into the world and giving their outfit the perfect finish. I love reinterpreting untamed natural pearls and creating exciting pieces of jewellery. I only use high-quality materials and make each piece of jewelry myself. By popular demand, I'm happy to give you a little insight into how my jewelry is made. ”

Kirstine makes all of her jewelry by hand in her Berlin studio. Her passion for Scandinavian design and materials is reflected in all her collections. Using baroque pearls in their natural shapes and sizes makes each piece an imperfect, one-of-a-kind treasure to treasure for a lifetime.
